Rachel Catt Elected to the Executive Council of the Colorado Bar Association’s Family Law Section



In light of her years of service to the Colorado Bar Association Family Law Section, Colorado LGBTQ divorce lawyer Rachel Catt has been elected as a member of the Executive Council of the organization for a term of two years that began in July of 2020. The position is an incredible honor and a fitting role for Rachel, who is one of Colorado’s most prominent family attorneys with LGBTQ family law expertise.

Rachel has been a member of the CBA Family Law Section since 2012 and this is her first elected position of leadership within the organization. Throughout her career, Rachel has been a leader in a number of organizations, including serving as President of the Colorado LGBT Bar Association (2019) and as a Board Member for the Colorado Women’s Bar Association (2018-2019) as well as being an active member of the CWBA’s Legislative Committee (2014-present).

In each of these leadership roles, Rachel has brought her unique background of Colorado same-sex divorce law and LGBTQ family law to the table, providing insight into topics such as parental rights and divorce, step-parent adoptions, and other highly complex family law topics. As a revered speaker and author on these topics and many others, she has made a huge impact for good in Colorado when it comes to the rights, roles, and responsibilities LGBTQ married partners and parents.

As part of her two-year term (2020-2022) for the Executive Council for the Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association, Rachel will have a chance to broaden her impact on family law throughout the state and continue to protect the legal rights of families of every kind.
